In the spring of 2013, I had the joy of finding online the Web site for Sainte-Therese Church in Metz,
in northestern France. From its page about the Martin family, I
learned that the relics of Blessed Louis and Zelie Martin, which, like
those of St. Therese, go on tour in a special traveling reliquary,
visited Metz at the end of 2011. I was so moved by the story of the
spiritual healing and rebirth that happened, over the lst two years, as a
result of the visit. Since I feel that the reception of the relics at
Sainte-Therese Church in Metz is a model for how they might be received
almost everywhere, I requested permission to translate the site into
English and recreate it on the new site "Blessed Louis and Zelie Martin"
in honor of the reception of the gift of the new reliquary containing
relics of St. Therese and of her parents which the Magnificat Foundation
is giving to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Please join me in
thanking the people of Sainte-Therese parish for sharing their story of
grace, Father Lange for generously granting me permission to translate
and recreate the site, and Mary Davidson and Gordon Henry, partners in
the apostolate, for translating the documents.
May the people receive such graces everywhere the relics go.
